NordVPN

NordVPN has the strongest paper trail of any mainstream VPN: six no-logs assurance engagements by Deloitte, the most recent completed in December 2025, plus a genuinely large and fast network. The real drawback is commercial rather than technical -- the pricing page is a maze of three tiers whose cheap rates only apply to a 2-year prepay and then renew much higher, so the $3.49/month figure is not what most subscribers end up paying in year three. If you want a set-and-forget VPN with a defensible privacy record, it is a fair pick; if you want simple honest pricing, look at Mullvad.

Where it is strong

People who want the broadest country coverage and the most consistently audited no-logs record, and who are happy to prepay two years to get a reasonable price.

Where it is weak

Aggressive upsell architecture -- the $3.49 headline is the entry-level Basic tier on a 2-year prepay, and the plans people actually get pitched (Complete, Prime) cost considerably more. No port forwarding, and Double VPN only works on predefined server pairs.
